Richard Davis was born on a farm in Our Lady’s Island, County Wexford on the 25th of February 1947, the year of the ‘Big Snow’.

‘Nobody Listens’ charts his family and farming history, his love of life, friendship and family and his involvement in the rural community in which he lives.

It also reveals details of a life less ordinary – a psychic gift that has meant contact with a dimension few of us are privy to.

He recounts in particular the impact that a child named Frances Emily had on his life and that of his family and tells how this particular experience has led to him finding the courage to finally become more open about his ability.

Title

“It is a charming mix of country characters and family life, laid out in simple form with plenty of pictures from the Davis clan.

The man with the trademark beard, which has adorned his face since the age of 19, lays out his narrative in a straightforward matter-of-fact style.

The ability to see ghosts of people long dead is not something that is given to us all, but the author accepts it as a natural part of his life.

It was his descriptions of the supernatural that prompted Helen McInerney and her RTE Nationwide crew to interview the bearded wonder.

So he has a prayer, and a container of holy water ever ready to hand to help troubled spirits ‘go to the light’ - what a marvellous phrase”

..............from “The Wexford People” newspaper January 2011, written by David Medcalf.
